Hawks guard Dennis Schroder to play in EuroBasket alongside Dirk Nowitzki

There will be no time for rest for Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder this offseason.

EuroBasket 2015 runs from September 5 through September 20, and Schroder confirmed to sport1.de that he would join the German national team at the European championship.

That report is in German, naturally, but Sportando.com reports that Schroder said it is an honor to play for the national team, and that he will be realizing one of his basketball dreams: playing alongside Dirk Nowitzki. Nowitzki confirmed earlier this month that he would represent Germany at EuroBasket.

Schroder and fellow point guard Jeff Teague had a rough exit to the playoffs, as the Cleveland Cavaliers did everything possible to bottle up Atlanta's free-flowing offense, and with great success. But Schroder had a fine season, and he's just 21; he'll turn 22 during EuroBasket, coincidentally enough (September 15). And getting a little bit of time on the same team as Nowitzki certainly can't hurt his development.
