Grizzlies' Marc Gasol wants to participate in 2016 Olympics

The Spanish national team is one of the best basketball teams in the world. Heck, it just won Eurobasket even without a roster at full strength. Just imagine how competitive it will be with Ricky Rubio and Marc Gasol back in the picture.

Speaking of which, we have an update on the latter's status for the 2016 Olympics, courtesy of Gigantes and translated by Sportando:

If I am healthy, I would love to play the Olympic Games. And I can assure that I would have played also the Olympic Qualifying Tournament next summer

The Spanish team is shaping up to be Team USA's toughest competition for the gold medal. The rest of the roster is also set to include Marc's brother Pau, Serge Ibaka, Rudy Fernandez, Sergio Rodriguez and Sergio Llul.
