Derrick Rose rape accuser suing him for $21.5 million

Published Oct. 28, 2015 3:48 p.m. ET

The woman who has accused Derrick Rose and his friends of drugging and gang-raping her is suing the Chicago Bulls star for $21.5 million.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the alleged victim is moving forward with her case and demanding $6 million in compensatory damages and $15.5 million in punitive. The trial is not expected to begin for another two years.

The accuser says the incident took place in August 2013, when Rose and two friends allegedly slipped a drug into her drink and later broke into her apartment and raped her while she was incapacitated. Rose has a very different account of what happened that night, claiming the woman consented to sexual activity and only became angry when Rose wouldn’t reimburse her for a sex toy she used.
