Celtics add Jerome Allen to their coaching staff

After Darren Erman left Boston to take a job under Alvin Gentry with the New Orleans Pelicans, Brad Stevens was non-committal about whether he felt the need to add another assistant to his staff.
That question was answered over the weekend, when Stevens revealed that the team will hire former University of Pennsylvania head coach Jerome Allen. Here's more on the move, courtesy of ESPN Boston's Chris Forsberg:
"Allen's addition would fill the void left when Darren Erman left to join Alvin Gentry's staff with the New Orleans Pelicans. He'd join a coaching staff that includes Jay Larranaga, Micah Shrewsberry, Walter McCarty and Jamie Young. 'I coached against him [at Butler],' said Stevens. 'Got to know him after coaching against him; spent time with him and learned a lot about him. I was always incredibly impressed with him.'"
The 42-year-old appeared in 117 games for three teams during a brief NBA career in the mid-90s, then played overseas for another decade. He spent the last six seasons at Penn, where he compiled a 65-104 record.
