Cavaliers center submits unusual candidate for Dunk of the Year

Cleveland Cavaliers center Timofey Mozgov is a very large human being who knows how to dunk a basketball. According to Basketball-Reference, the 7'1" Russian has done it 342 times in his six-year career, and 42 times this season alone.

But against the Sacramento Kings on Monday night, Mozgov's legs/hand-eye coordination betrayed him in the worst way:

In what's been a discouraging, injury-plagued season, the 29-year-old Mozgov is averaging 6.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. It's been a rough couple of months, and this particular goof won't help him sleep any better.

But there's plenty of time for redemption. The Cavaliers remain in first place, and Mozgov will eventually be called upon to help them push through to a second-straight NBA Finals. If Cleveland finds itself facing the San Antonio Spurs, Mozgov will be one of LeBron James' most important teammates.
