AP Source: Spurs agree to terms with Pau Gasol on 2-yr deal
A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that the San Antonio Spurs have agreed to terms with veteran forward Pau Gasol on a two-year deal worth $30 million.
Gasol and the Spurs quickly agreed to a deal Monday, not long after Kevin Durant chose the Golden State Warriors over the Spurs and other teams in free agency. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the contract cannot be signed until Thursday.
The Spurs will have to make some roster moves to accommodate Gasol's salary. That could include trading veteran forward Boris Diaw to get the cap space to add Gasol to a frontcourt that already includes LaMarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard.
Gasol played for Chicago the last two years.
Yahoo Sports first reported the agreement.
