AP Source: Heat offer Dwyane Wade 2-year, $40M deal to stay
MIAMI (AP) A person with knowledge of the situation says Dwyane Wade has been offered a two-year, $40 million deal to remain with the Miami Heat.
The person says the second year would be at Wade's option. The person spoke to The Associated Press Monday on condition of anonymity because talks are going. The contract, if accepted, would essentially match the career-best $20 million salary Wade made this past season.
This is the second consecutive summer in which Wade and the Heat have gone through bumpy contract talks. Wade has spent all 13 of his NBA seasons in Miami and has repeatedly said he wants to spend his entire career with the club.
Wade averaged 19.0 points and 4.6 assists this past season, and was an All-Star selection for the 12th time.
