Yankees mock Cubs for title drought in Twitter exchange
The New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs got into a schoolyard scuffle on Twitter on Monday.
It all began with a tweet posted by a fan suggesting that the Yankees' Twitter account is better than the Cubs'.

The Cubs replied to the fan by opening up the discussion to their Twitter followers and asking which team had the better account.

The Yankees then jumped in on the debate and posted a poll of their own that hit the Cubs right where it hurts most while also boasting their own accomplishments.

The Yankees, of course, own the most World Series titles in MLB history by a long shot with 27 championships in 40 appearances.
While the Cubs have recently shown World Series potential with their latest fleet of young talent, they infamously have not won a World Series since 1908 and have only claimed two championships in 10 World Series appearances.
In response to the Yankees' shutdown tweet, the Cubs posted a GIF of manager Joe Maddon expressing shock, writing "Thought we were friends."

The Yankees then agreed to make nice, but only after hitting the Cubs below the belt.

Of course, that wasn't the extent of the Yankee's malice on Twitter on Monday, as they also seized the opportunity to blast their rival Boston Red Sox via the trending topic "#BadValentineIn5Words."
