Watch Noah Syndergaard take over the HR lead among pitchers

With a no-doubt two-run shot to right-center field off Braden Shipley on Tuesday night, New York Mets pitch Noah Syndergaard took his third trot around the bases this season and the fourth of his career.

The Mets went on to beat the Diamondbacks 7-5 as Syndergaard earned his 10th win of the season.

Three National League pitchers have two home runs apiece this year: the Cubs' Jake Arrieta, Giants ace Madison Bumgarner and Adam Wainwright of the Cardinals. Pretty good company for Thor in batting and pitching prowess.

Four dingers for Syndergaard in 86 career at-bats is a pretty good ratio and ought to make him worth consideration for pinch-hitting duty as the Mets are batting a paltry .236 in August and continue to struggle to score runs this season (29th in the league).
