The Blue Jays and Pirates will reportedly play games in Montreal next spring

Montreal may no longer have an MLB team to call its own, but the city continues to serve as host for preseason baseball in the spring. According to the Montreal Gazette, the Toronto Blue Jays will return to Montreal to play a pair of spring training games next year.
The Jays will reportedly face off against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Olympic Stadium on March 31 and April 1 in 2o17, marking the fourth consecutive year that Toronto has played preseason games in Montreal. The latest came this past April, when the Blue Jays and Red Sox played two games that saw more than 106,000 tickets sold, so it's not surprising that the tradition continues.
The city of Montreal has been without its own MLB team since 2004, when the Expos were relocated to Washington and became the Nationals. For baseball fans in Montreal, the fact that the city still maintains a healthy (and profitable) relationship with Major League Baseball is an encouraging sign for a possible full-time return in the future.
For now, the spring games will have to do. Tickets to next year's games will reportedly go on sale Oct. 1.
