Sources: Nationals the top suitor for Padres closer Craig Kimbrel
As the trade winds pick up surrounding San Diego Padres closer Craig Kimbrel, a frontrunner has reportedly emerged to nab his services.
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Washington Nationals have surfaced as the "hottest" on Kimbrel, who is considered one of the best right-handed relievers on the trade market.
Sources: #Nationals hottest on Kimbrel. Also linked to Chapman. Friend of Rizzo: “I will almost bet my house that he will do something big.”

Other teams rumored to be interested in Kimbrel include the New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, and the Houston Astros.
The Nationals are seemingly determined to land a top closer, as Rosenthal also reports that they have been linked to flame-throwing Cincinnati Reds closer Aroldis Chapman, who is revered as the best left-handed reliever on the trade market.
