Ryan Vogelsong's wife shares update after Pirates pitcher was hit in the face (VIDEO)

Scary scene at PNC Park on Monday when the ball got away from Colorado Rockies righty Jordan Lyles and hit Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Ryan Vogelsong in the face.  

According to Pirates head trainer Todd Tomczyk, Vogelsong suffered an injury to "the eye itself, which includes the orbital" bone surrounding the eye.

Later on Monday evening, the 38-year-old pitcher's wife providing this update:

"I didn't like the sound," Pirates catcher Francisco Cervelli said. "It just scared me."

The Pirates are expected to provide a further update on Vogelsong's condition on Tuesday.
