Reports: Former Nats' manager Williams to rejoin D-backs as coach

After a managerial stint with the Washington Nationals, Matt Williams will reportedly reunite with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
According to multiple reports on Tuesday, Williams has accepted an offer from the D-backs to reprise his role as the team's third-base coach.
Williams, who was fired by the Nationals after two seasons as the team's manager, was originally hired by Arizona as its first-base coach for the 2010 season. He was moved to the third-base coaching box the following season, where he served until being hired by the Nats in 2013.
The 49-year-old spent six seasons with the Diamondbacks as a player, retiring in Arizona after the 2003 season.
The team has yet to confirm the news, which is expected to be announced on Wednesday. If hired, Williams will replace Andy Green, who has been hired to manage the San Diego Padres.
