Report: Brewers sign Venezuelan catcher

According to a report from MLB.com, the Brewers agreed to a deal with Venezuelan catcher Jose Sibrian on Thursday.

The Brewers did not confirm the deal, but Thursday marked the first day of MLB's international signing period.

"It's a big day for a lot of people in the industry," Brewers manager Craig Counsell said. "They've spent a lot of time -- years -- with some of these kids. And it's big day for a lot of these kids. Some lives being changed."
