New Cardinal Leake on Cubs: 'I wouldn't mind taking them down'

Less than 24 hours as an official member of the St. Louis Cardinals and Mike Leake is already being asked to weigh in on the rivalry with the Chicago Cubs.
"Honestly," Leake said when asked about the Cubs-Cards rivalry during his news conference introduction. "I wouldn't mind taking them down."
Tuesday, Leake and the Cardinals agreed to a five-year deal worth $80 million. Showing his enthusiasm for his new club, Leake was introduced later in the day at Busch Stadium.
"I'm actually really excited, I was on the other sides of the lines, watching a team I had really high thoughts for," Leake said. "I really enjoyed watching the Cardinals go about their business and how they basically put together a dynasty in my opinion"
For the Cardinals, adding Leake means a much-needed offseason win for the club. He had other suitors during his time on the free agent market, but overall, the lure of being a Cardinal was the key to signing with St. Louis.
"Now that I'm a part of it, I can proudly say 'I'm a Cardinal'," Leake said.
