It appears as if outfielder Carlos Gomez will be continuing his run with the Texas Rangers, a run that started last season

The dominoes are really starting to fall in MLB Free Agency this week with the annual Winter Meetings taking place. And late Tuesday evening, it was time to add another domino to the fold, than player being outfielder Carlos Gomez.

After spending a few short months with the club in 2016, it appears as if Gomez will be sticking around with the Texas Rangers on a one-year deal that’s worth just a little over $11 million.

However, the stint in Houston did not go as planned, and he was released by the club last August 15. A few days later, he was a member of the Texas Rangers.

Upon joining the Rangers last season, Gomez actually became an integral part of the Texas run to the postseason. In 33 games with the team, he batted .284 with eight home runs and 24 runs driven in. In the ALDS sweep at the hands of the Toronto Blue Jays, though, Gomez tallied just two hits in 14 plate appearances.

But, in the end, it looked as if the two-month audition was good enough for the team to bring him back for at least another season. Now they’ll get to see if he can use an entire season of work to help get them back to the World Series.
