After nearly an entire month without having him in the lineup, the New York Mets are expecting infielder Daniel Murphy to return to the team this week.
Manager Terry Collins told reporters that he is anticipating Murphy to reunite with the club Tuesday, when the Mets play the Cincinnati Reds at home.
While he usually played second base, Murphy is expected to play third base upon his return, as David Wright remains on the disabled list as he tries to work his way back to the diamond after being diagnosed with spinal stenosis.

Amid their ongoing offensive struggles, the Mets will be delighted to have Murphy's bat return to the lineup.
In 55 games this season, Murphy has hit .283/.335/.414 with four home runs and 29 RBI.
