Lefty Ross Detwiler agrees to minor league deal with Indians

CLEVELAND (AP) Left-hander Ross Detwiler has agreed to a minor league contract with the Cleveland Indians and will attend big league spring training.

Detwiler, who turns 30 on March 6, was 1-5 with a 7.25 ERA this year in seven starts and 34 relief appearances for Texas and Atlanta.

He is 21-37 with a 4.20 ERA over eight major league seasons, making 76 starts and 97 relief appearances.

Cleveland also released third baseman Chris Johnson on Tuesday.
