Jose Bautista challenged an umpire to an intense staring contest

Here's something that's fairly well known around baseball: Jose Bautista doesn't like umpires. The Toronto Blue Jays slugger is constantly giving disgruntled looks following controversial strike calls and sharing his displeasure on a regular basis.

His relationship with umpires -- or lack thereof -- took a strange turn on Thursday night. He and Dan Bellino engaged in a staring contest after Bautista was unhappy with a strike call during an at-bat that ended in a groundout.

There's no question Bautista is a fiery player. Just look at his epic bat flip during last year's playoffs. But this staring contest was new ... and intense.
