Jon Lester smashes solo home run during un-televised game
Welp. There it is. The biggest miracle of the MLB season, nearly wasted on the most unworthy of contests.
Jon Lester, a career .041 batter, went yard Wednesday against the Rockies. The Cubs' first response: of course this Halley's Comet of baseball happenings occurred while the cameras weren't rolling.
The day we aren't on TV, @JLester34 hits a home run.

While some would just take the Cubs at their word, I will not. I don't care what Twitter or the box score says. This is the Internet. "Pics or it didn't happen" will be at the top of my headstone. It's in the will.
But turns out, we do have physical proof of this nigh biblical moment in sport thanks to Cubs fan Jon Ferlise, who had the smart phone rolling when Lester smacked one opposite field.

Now, it's important you understand the unlikeliness of what you just witnessed. We've already laid out the phrase "career .041 batter." Here's what that looks like:
Lester has zero home runs to his name in 98 at-bats over 10 seasons in the American League. He tied the MLB hitless record for a pitcher in 2015 during his first start with the Cubs, and he later ended his streak in July with an infield chopper.
So whatever magical baseball feat you might see this season, Cubs fans, chances are, it's statistically less freakish than Jon Lester cranking one over the wall.
Dan is on Twitter. He's still waiting for the Bartolo inside-the-parker.
