Is White Sox manager Robin Ventura on thin ice?

Despite the front office's best efforts to put together a winning team this past offseason, the White Sox once again find themselves in last place in the AL Central.
In an interview with FOX Sports Radio, Jon Paul Morosi indicated that Ventura's job could be in jeopardy, especially after the recent firing of Brewers manager Ron Roenicke.
Despite their 8-14 start, a number of White Sox players have defended their manager, saying that they are the ones to blame for the poor play.

"We cannot blame Robin for the situation of the team," first baseman Abreu told the Chicago Tribune through a team interpreter Sunday morning. "It's our fault because we are the ones who are playing. We are the people who are in the field.
"If the people want someone to blame, it's the players, not Robin. He's doing what he can do, but the results aren't there."
Second baseman Micah Johnson echoed Abreu's sentiments about Ventura.
"He's great, especially for me as a young guy," Johnson said via CSN Chicago. "We're out there probably five days a week taking groundballs early, and he's standing there right next to me, talking to me pretty much every groundball. He lets me play my game."
Ventura might be connecting with his young players, but that ultimately doesn't matter if the team can't putting a winning product on the field.
With a team batting average of .214 and a starting rotation with a collective 5.40 ERA (third-worst in the AL), it's tough to put all of the blame on Ventura. But if the Sox don't turn things around soon, he could find himself on the outside looking in.
