How the Mets aided Aaron Harang's pitching resurgence

Philadelphia Phillies righty Aaron Harang only spent a few weeks with the New York Mets, but his short time with the team has played a big role in his recent rebirth.
Prior to being acquired by the Mets in 2013, Harang experienced a rough season in Seattle, in which he went 5-11 with an inflated 5.76 earned run average.
In his four late-season starts with the Mets, Harang shrank his earned run average to 3.52, posting 6.5 strikeouts per start.
The veteran pitcher credits a helpful suggestion from Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen for his turnaround.
The Philadelphia Inquirer says that Warthen proposed Harang try gripping his changeup with two seams instead of his usual four.
After working on the pitch for an entire season last year with the Atlanta Braves, Harang has mastered it and has had success ever since the slight tweak.
"He's probably regretting showing it to me now because the last two years I've done pretty well against them," Harang joked.
