Giants' Angel Pagan barely missed the best home run-robbing catch of 2016

San Francisco Giants left fielder Angel Pagan has never won a Gold Glove in his career, but he nearly made one of the best plays of the 2016 season against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday night.

With two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning, Erik Kratz hit a fly ball to left field, just far enough to clear the wall. Pagan jumped and appeared to rob Kratz of his first home run, but after a few seconds it was clear he couldn't hold on.

Pagan slammed his glove in frustration, because obviously his glove failed him. Had he been able to haul it in, it would have been a top-five play of the season.

To add insult to injury, it was the only run of the game as the Pirates went on to win 1-0, ending the Giants' eight-game winning streak.
