Dodgers catcher Ellis calls LHP Anderson a 'godsend'

Through 16 starts, Dodgers left-handed pitcher Brett Anderson has won five games and pitched 96 innings. Those are good, but fairly unremarkable numbers. Considering that Anderson hasn’t won this many games or pitched this many innings since 2010, it’s a significant accomplishment for the lefty.
Anderson has been limited by injuries over the past five seasons, and was looked upon as a questionable offseason acquisition by the front office. Now opinions have changed. Per MLB.com, catcher A.J. Ellis said:
"He's been a godsend...I don't know where we'd be without him as our No. 3, and at times he's been a No. 1 or 2."
That’s quite a statement given that the Dodgers have Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke as their No. 1 and 2 starters.
Anderson has been particularly good over his last three starts: three wins and one earned run given up in each outing.
