Dodgers announcer Vin Scully praises Joc Pederson's defense

When a rookie gets called the best fielding player in franchise history at his position, you’d probably call it hyperbole. The fact that Hall of Fame announcer Vin Scully said it, might make you think twice. According to the Sporting News, during Wednesday night’s Dodger broadcast, Scully said that Joc Pederson "looks to be the best fielding center fielder the Dodgers have ever had.”

If anybody could credibly say something like that it’s Scully who’s witnessed 66 years of Dodger history as their broadcaster. He’s seen Duke Snider play center when the Dodgers were in Brooklyn and three-time Gold Glove winner Willie Davis in the team’s early years in Los Angeles.

Pederson made two notable catches last week, and was recently highlighted as potentially the first rookie outfielder to win a Gold Glove.
