D-backs reportedly content with Brad Ziegler as closer

The Arizona Diamondbacks have been linked to a pair of top closers this offseason, but it appears as though they'll likely be sticking with the closer they already have for 2016.
According to The Arizona Republic, the D-backs front office is favoring keeping Ziegler in its closer role for the coming season.
"With Ziegler doing the job that he has, I am looking to better ourselves more than likely in the front end versus the back end [of the bullpen]," general manager Dave Stewart said.
In his first season undertaking the closer role full-time, Ziegler proved clutch, holding a 1.85 ERA while notching 30 saves in 32 opportunities.
Despite his success, Arizona has been linked to Cincinnati Reds flame-thrower Aroldis Chapman and Craig Kimbrel as well before he was traded to the Boston Red Sox by the San Diego Padres.
While Ziegler pitches to contact and Chapman dominates with strikeouts and triple-digit heat, the Diamondbacks aren't willing to pay the hefty price tag that comes along with acquiring a top closer like Chapman.
"I've made it pretty clear that I'm just not in the mood to give up three or four players for one guy at the back end of my bullpen," Stewart said.
