Clayton Kershaw's historic season can be summed up with this one stat
Clayton Kershaw has an NL MVP and three Cy Young awards on his resume. But despite all that hardware, this year's version is arguably the best ever as the Los Angeles Dodgers lefty is authoring his best season of his nine-year career and one of the greatest ever.
Kershaw didn't get his eighth win of the season Sunday night, but you can't really blame the ace for his no-decision. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts pulled him in the eighth inning and the Mets eventually scored the tying run against the bullpen.
Despite the no-decision, Kershaw was again otherworldly. He struck out 10 and allowed no walks, an accomplishment that has almost become commonplace for the nasty left-hander. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Kershaw reached 100 strikeouts Sunday with the fewest walks issued in the modern era (5).

In the month of May, Kershaw has an obscene 55 strikeouts and only two walks. He struck out at least 10 batters in five of his six outings in the month and has gone at least seven innings in each of his 11 starts this season.
