Cardinals' defensive stars Heyward, Molina recognized for skills

Late last week, MLB announced the finalists for the Rawlings Gold Glove Award, and two St. Louis Cardinals are up for the honor.

Right fielder Jason Heyward, one of the league's most gifted defensive outfielders, and catcher Yadier Molina were announced as being in the running. This is no surprise given their respective pedigrees, as Molina has won a Gold Glove every season since 2008. Heyward, meanwhile, picked up Gold Gloves in 2012 and 2014 when he was a member of the Atlanta Braves.

Molina was nominated alongside Buster Posey of the San Francisco Giants and Wilson Ramos of the Washington Nationals, while Heyward will have to beat Curtis Granderson of the New York Mets and Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals to take home another GG for his collection.

However, Heyward (a free agent now that the Cards' 2015 season is over) could have seen his price rise now that he also was named the top right fielder by the Fielding Bible Awards on Sunday night (as reported by Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch).
