August a better time for Tampa Bay Rays to make trades?

The Tampa Bay Rays may have missed out on some bats at the trade deadline, but don't be surprised if they add to the roster in August.
In a guest appearance on a Tampa Bay radio show, Rays owner Stuart Sternberg explained why this month might be better to gain some offense, as transcribed by Rays Index:
“I feel like August might be a better month to add offense. We’re going to get [Desmond] Jennings back. But during the waiver process, we’ll have an opportunity to see what’s out there. Given where we are in the standings, we’re close to the Wild Card, but we’re in front of a lot of other teams in terms of waiver claims. So, we’re going to be able to see some activity and possibly pick up some offense there.”
As Rays Index notes, August is a tricky time to make a trade. Not only do you have to less of a selection of players, the order that teams can place a waiver claim can change on a day-to-day basis. The longer teams wait, the tougher it will be to add the players they want.
