A's send Clippard to Mets for Single-A pitcher Meisner
The Oakland Athletics sell-off continued on Monday, as the club traded reliever Tyler Clippard to the New York Mets in exchange for minor-league pitcher Casey Meisner:

Many expected Oakland to trade Clippard, considering their place in the AL West (last) and after having traded pitcher Scott Kazmir last week.
In Meisner, the A's receive a 6'7" 20-year-old who was selected by the Mets in the 2013 Draft straight out of high school.
With Clippard and Kazmir off the table, it seems to only be a matter of time before infielder/outfielder Ben Zobrist finds himself a new home, as reports have the A's in discussions with several teams for his services ahead of this Friday's July 31 non-waiver trade deadline.
