Angels: Weaver pitching perhaps his final game versus Rangers tonight

The Angels are playing the Texas Rangers for the final time this season. Tonight, Jered Weaver may be pitching his final game versus the Texas Rangers.
The Texas Rangers have a mission on their mind, the Angels are trying to spoil that mission. With a divisional title on the line, the Halos and Rangers will square off tonight. The Halos will have Jered Weaver on the mound tonight opposite Derek Holland.
Weaver has had a subpar season. He has a record of 11-12, despite having quality starts in his last two outings. As a result, Weaver is the perfect candidate to prolong the Rangers winning the division.
If you recall last season, the Rangers surprisingly clinched the division after beating the Halos. The Halos had a chance to make the post-season and lost on that opportunity. This season, the Angels are far from the playoffs.
For Weaver, this is an important game, he has 149 career wins as an Angel. A win tonight would make him the first Angel to win 150 games since Chuck Finley. This accomplishment is most noteworthy for Weaver.

There is uncertainty with Weaver and his future following this season. I’m 100% sure he’ll continue to play, retirement isn’t in Weaver’s vocabulary. These last remaining games of this season are important for reasons such as this.
The Halos have a chance to spoil the Rangers division title, for now. It’s likely that Texas will win the AL West. The Astros are 9.5 games behind the Rangers with 11 games left in the season. The Angels will see the Astros for seven of those games.
If the Astros lose today (playing Oakland right now) and the Rangers win, the AL West will belong to the Rangers or the second year in a row. However, Houston would have to run the table while the Rangers would have to collapse for Houston to have a chance.
One thing is for sure, you don’t want to be the team that gives the division title winner its crown. You especially do not want to be this team two years in a row. The Halos have pride and will have to dig deep to spoil the Rangers division title hopes.
