Angels waiting for Wilson to make a decision regarding elbow surgery

Published Aug. 13, 2015 12:54 p.m. ET

Los Angeles Angels lefty C.J. Wilson has yet to officially decide his fate, and as a result the club is waiting for him to make a decision.

Though Wilson told the media back in early August that his 2015 season was over due to bone spurs in his left elbow, he has yet to announce whether or not he'll have surgery.

MLB.com's Greg Garno reported on Wednesday that Wilson met with Dr. Neal ElAttrache for a second opinion - and while it didn't reveal any new developments, Wilson has yet to officially opt for surgery.

Said manager Mike Scioscia to Garno: "Once he gets all the information, I'm sure we'll get the results from it and see what C.J.'s decision is. He's got results of everything, we just have to wait until C.J. digests them, and then see what direction he wants to go."

Once Wilson decides whether he'll go under the knife or not, the Halos will have a better understanding of what that means for him long-term - though they're already continuing on without his services for the rest of this season.
