The Boston Red Sox gave away necklaces with the No. 500 on them Tuesday night in celebration of David Ortiz being a part of the 500-home run club. The chains were meant for the fans, but Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones somehow got his hands on one and was wearing it in the dugout.
A nice tribute to Ortiz, right? Well, he quickly took the chain off because it apparently brought some good luck to Big Papi. In the bottom of the first inning, Ortiz belted one into the bullpen in right field.

Off came Jones' chain.
Fortunately for the Orioles, Ortiz's home run didn't do them in. They went on to win 9-5 to continue their hot start, improving their record to 7-0.
