Driskel leads Florida Atlantic back to beat UTEP 35-31

BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) Jason Driskel drove Florida Atlantic 96 yards in the closing minutes to give the Owls a 35-31 come-from-behind victory over UTEP on Saturday night.

Trailing 31-28 with 2:45 remaining, Driskel moved the Owls to UTEP's 7 with 25 seconds left to play. He found Nate Terry in the end zone and Terry made a one-handed catch to haul in the winning pass.

UTEP led throughout the second half, but the Owls would not go away. They entered the fourth quarter trailing 31-20 but had two scores in the final 4:36 to grab the win.

Driskel completed 20 of 25 pass attempts for 233 yards. Devin Singletary rushed for 145 yards and two scores for Florida Atlantic (3-7, 2-4 Conference USA).

Aaron Jones had a record night for the Miners (3-7, 1-5) running for 229 yards to become UTEP's all-time leading rusher, amassing 3,738 yards in his career to surpass John Harvey's 3,576.
