Jereal Scott had 14 points and 11 rebounds Saturday to lead Stephen F. Austin to a 74-48 victory over Alabama State in the Lumberjack Classic.
The Lumberjacks (4-3) turned a close game into a runaway in the last 10 minutes of the first half, scoring the final 18 points before the break in opening up a 35-13 lead.
Taylor Smith scored 10 points for Stephen F. Austin, which owned a 45-22 rebounding advantage.
Ivory White led the Hornets (1-6) with 15 points and Kenderek Washington scored all 11 of his points in the second half for Alabama State, though the Hornets never came closer than 15 after intermission.
