Marland Smith hit seven 3-pointers en route to 24 points, leading Southeast Missouri past Eastern Illinois 80-73 on Saturday night.

Tyler Stone scored 18 points and Leon Powell had a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Redhawks (10-8, 5-1 Ohio Valley), who have won two straight. Lucas Nutt had seven assists.

Jeremy Granger scored a game-high 31 points for the Panthers (9-7, 2-2), whose three-game winning streak ended. Joey Miller added 12 points.

Southeast Missouri enjoyed an extended run late in the first half that turned the game in its favor. Tied 17-17, the Redhawks put together a 27-12 run over the final 9:09 and led 44-29 at intermission.

Southeast Missouri outshot Eastern Illinois 52 percent (29 to 56) to 47 percent (27 of 58) but had an even more pronounced advantage from 3-point range, hitting 11 of 20 to the Panthers' 4 of 12.
