Jeremy Chappell tied a season-high with 25 points as Robert Morris advanced to the Northeast Conference championship game for the first time in nine years with a 75-48 win over Quinnipiac on Sunday. Bateko Francisco and Jimmy Langhurst added 12 points each for the top-seeded Colonials (23-10), who will be looking to add to their NEC-record five league titles when they host Wednesday night's title game against the winner of the Sacred Heart-Mount St. Mary's, Md. game later Sunday. The tournament champion earns an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. James Feldeine had 16 points to lead the No. 5 seed Bobcats (15-16), who had won four of their past five and seven of 10 but went 0-3 against regular-season conference champion Robert Morris this season. The Colonials, who have won 17 of their last 20 games, never trailed and shot 58.8 percent from the field. Robert Morris went on a 11-0 run that spanned halftime to take control of the game, then added a 22-4 second-half run to extend the lead to a game-high 32 at 71-39. Chappell, who had 17 points in the first half, made five 3-pointers and added eight rebounds. The Bobcats made only two 3-pointers and five second-half field goals and committed 19 turnovers, and lost despite a 35-21 edge in rebounds.
