Report: Fredette too cool for school

BYU star Jimmer Fredette has been asked by school officials to stay out of class this spring.

Honor code violation?

No. He's just too darn famous.

Al Fredette says the school asked his son to stick to online classes because "it was getting too disruptive," with people wanting autographs and photos, according to The Post-Star in Glens Falls, N.Y.

Jimmer Fredette spent last week in Los Angeles, where he joined UConn star Kemba Walker on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Thursday night, then took home the Wooden Award on Friday night.

Since BYU's season ended in the NCAA tournament's Sweet 16, Fredette has been working out in preparation for the NBA draft in June. He has chosen four finalists in his search for an agent and plans to announce his selection next week.

Fredette, who sported a fresh haircut for the ceremony, denied speculation that he's engaged to his girlfriend of 1½ years.

"I'm not engaged," he said. "I've heard that many times."
