Olson rallies Loyola (Md) past Fairfield 66-63

Robert Olson made three baskets in 23 seconds late in the game and scored 15 points as Loyola (Md.) rallied to defeat Fairfield 66-63 Friday night.

Erik Etherly had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Greyhounds (12-4, 5-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who trailed 45-30 with 16:42 remaining.

The Stags (8-9, 3-3) still led 62-55 after Maurice Barrow's layup with 2:07 remaining. A jumper by Olson, who scored 13 second-half points, cut the lead to five with 1:42 left.

A steal by Dylan Cormier led to an Olson jumper 15 seconds later, and another steal by Cormier set up Olson's tying 3-pointer at the 1:19 mark.

Cormier gave Loyola a 64-63 lead with two free throws after Desmond Wade made one for Fairfield. Shane Walker and Anthony Wimbush added free throws for Loyola, while the Stags missed their final four shots.

Rakim Sanders led Fairfield with 17 points.
