North Texas edges Florida Atlantic 78-76

BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) Jordan Williams scored 19 points to lead North Texas to a 78-76 win Saturday night over Florida Atlantic.

Vertrail Vaughns made two free throws to give North Texas its first lead of the second half, 48-46 with 15:48 remaining, and the Mean Green led the rest of the way. T.J. Taylor's layup stretched the Mean Green's lead to 64-54 with 9:27 to play. Marquan Botley hit a 3-pointer to pull Florida Atlantic within 74-73 with 27 seconds left, but the Owls did not get any closer.

Colin Voss and Brandan Walton each scored 10 points for North Texas (14-13, 5-8 Conference USA), which has won three straight games since snapping a five-game losing skid.

Justin Raffington scored 27 points and Pablo Bertone added 26 to lead Florida Atlantic (10-18, 5-8), which has lost three straight and four of its last six games.
