Justin Hamilton made two field goals in overtime, including the go-ahead basket, to lead LSU to a 65-58 victory against Auburn in a Southeastern Conference game Tuesday.

Hamilton's first came almost two minutes into the extra period, putting LSU ahead 58-56. Neither team scored again until Andre Stringer's 3-pointer with 1:22 left gave LSU a 61-56 advantage.

Rob Chubb then scored Auburn's only points in overtime with a field goal.

On LSU's next possession, Hamilton got loose for a layup. Then teammate Anthony Hickey completed the scoring with two foul shots with 3 seconds remaining. Auburn committed four turnovers in overtime.

Hickey led LSU (12-6, 2-2) with 18 points, and Hamilton finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. Ralston Turner added 11 points and Storm Warren 10 for LSU.

Frankie Sullivan paced Auburn (11-7, 1-3) with 19 points, while Chubb had 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Down by three, 53-50, Auburn pulled within a field goal on Sullivan's free throw with 1:40 left in regulation. Auburn then tied it on its next possession when Kenny Gabriel slammed home a missed shot.

Hickey's driving layup put LSU in the lead 55-53 with 40 seconds left in regulation. Auburn lost its first chance to tie it when Chubb's pass to Varez Ward went out of bounds. Hickey then made just one of two free throws to give Auburn one final opportunity.

Both Gabriel and Sullivan missed 3-point shots in the final 10 seconds. But Ward connected with his 3-point attempt with 0.2 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime, 56-56.

The game was marked by momentum swings. LSU jumped to a 10-2 lead early with Turner making a pair of 3-pointers. Auburn brought it within four, 18-14, on Sullivan's free throws.

LSU again built another large lead, this time by 10, 24-14, on baskets by Warren, Hamilton and John Isaac.

But once again Auburn came back. A 3-pointer by Sullivan at the halftime buzzer reduced Auburn's deficit to seven points at 34-27.

Auburn used an 11-0 run in the opening minutes of the second half to take a four-point lead. Sullivan made two more 3-pointers, while both Josh Wallace and Chubb made a field goal. A foul shot by Chubb completed the outburst and put Auburn ahead 38-34 with 14:32 remaining in regulation.

Auburn moved ahead by eight points at 46-38 after a basket by Josh Langford with 11:31 left in the game. But LSU would again tie it, scoring eight straight points. Warren's field goal tied it with 7:53 left in the second half.

LSU regained the lead at 50-48 when Hickey was awarded a basket on a goal-tending call against Gabriel. A basket by Gabriel then tied the score. After Warren and Chubb exchanged field goals, a 3-pointer by Hickey put LSU ahead 53-50 with 2:55 remaining.
