Loyola Marymount holds off Cal State Fullerton 79-74

LOS ANGELES (AP) Adom Jacko came off the bench to score 22 points and grab 10 rebounds to help lift Loyola Marymount past Cal State Fullerton 79-74 in Friday night's season opener for both teams.

Jacko shot 7 for 15 from the floor and 8 for 10 from the free-throw line. Brandon Brown had 14 and Steven Haney added 13 for the Lions.

The Titans' Kyle Allman made two free throws with 22 seconds left to cut Loyola Marymount's lead to 75-74. David Humphries responded to hit two free throws for the Lions, but the Titans' Malcolm Brooks's missed layup with 12 seconds remaining ended any threat.

Marin Mornar added two free throws for the final score.

Brooks finished with 16 for the Titans shooting 7 for 11 and 2 for 3 from the 3-point line.

Loyola Marymount led 41-31 at the half.
