Raheem Appleby scored a career-high 28 points to lead Louisiana Tech to a 74-70 win over Hawaii on Thursday.

Appleby was 10 of 15 from the field. Cordarius Johnson added 14 points, including four 3-pointers, and J.L. Lewis chipped in 10 points for Louisiana Tech.

The Bulldogs (9-10, 1-3 Western Athletic) snapped a four-game losing streak and picked up their first conference victory, while the Rainbow Warriors (10-8, 2-2) dropped their second straight.

Joston Thomas paced Hawaii with 22 points.

Hawaii shot 51 percent from the field but committed 17 turnovers, which the Bulldogs turned into 22 points.

Louisiana Tech led by as many as eight late in the first half and held a 38-34 halftime advantage.

Hawaii played without starting guards Zane Johnson (stomach flu) and Miah Ostrowski (staph infection). Johnson was averaging a team-high 15.1 points per game, and Ostrowski 6.2 assists per game.
