Aaron Mitchell scored 24 points and had eight rebounds to lead Longwood to a 75-56 victory over Savannah State on Saturday, ending the Lancers' four-game losing streak.

Longwood (9-19) shot 58.1 percent from the field (18 of 31) in the second half to pull away from Savannah State (7-18) and improve to 1-14 on the road this season.

The Lancers went on a 15-3 run that spanned halftime to break a 19-19 tie and take a 34-22 lead on Martiz Washington's 3-pointer with 19:51 left to play.

Antwan Carter's layup gave Longwood a 49-34 advantage with 13:12 remaining.

Jeremiah Bowman scored 15 points, Carter had 12 points and eight rebounds and Durann Neil added 10 points for the Lancers.

Savannah State's Jovonni Shuler had 26 points and 10 rebounds and Stephen Wilson added 10 points. The Tigers had won five consecutive games, including 76-67 at Longwood on Jan. 29.
