Jacobo leads IPFW over Western Illinois 65-56

MACOMB, Ill. (AP) Luis Jacobo scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne to a 65-56 victory Thursday night over Western Illinois.

Mike Miklusak hit a 3-pointer to pull Western Illinois within two points, 56-54 with 3:45 to play. IPFW closed on a 9-2 run, including five points by Isaiah McCray and two by Jacobo, to seal it for the Mastodons.

Jacobo was 4 of 10 from the field and a perfect 8 of 8 from the line. Joe Reed scored 11 points and Steve Forbes added 10 for IPFW (21-9, 9-4 Summit), which is tied with South Dakota State for second place.

Jabari Sandifer scored 14 points and had four assists to lead Western Illinois (9-19, 3-10). Garret Covington scored 13 points and Adam Link added 10 points with four assists for the Leathernecks, who have lost seven straight.
