ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (AP) Ervin Mitchell scored 16 points, Velario Altheimer had 14 rebounds, and Grambling State used a 38-0 run that spanned more than nine minutes to pull away from Mid-Atlantic Christian 85-26 on Saturday.
Angus Spencer's layup with 17:02 left ended the run.
Mitchell, who scored 14 of his 16 in the first half and finished 6 of 9 from the field, led a strong effort from the Tigers bench that combined for 57 points and 32 rebounds. All six bench players scored at least 7 points.
Grambling State (1-1) shot 60.6 percent in the first half on its way to a 47-12 halftime lead.

Mid-Atlantic Christian (0-4) was 9-for-47 shooting and committed 22 turnovers. Micah Ryals had 7 points, and Joseph Hill had 6 points and six rebounds.
