Joe Dukes scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half to lead Georgia State to a 54-41 victory Friday in the first round of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament. Dukes grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out five assists for the Panthers (12-19), who advanced to the quarterfinals to play top-seeded Virginia Commonwealth on Saturday. Leonard Mendez had 12 points for the Panthers. Rashad Chase also had 13 rebounds for Georgia State, which outrebounded the Blue Hens 45-34. The Panthers forced Delaware (13-19) into its worst shooting of the season, 28 percent, including 2-for-21 from 3-point range. Georgia State used a 10-0 run to claim a 37-24 lead with 12:09 left in the second half. The Blue Hens got no closer than six, and managed only two field goals in the final 9:17. Marc Egerson and Alphonso Dawson each had 11 points for Delaware.
