Charlie Reddick drilled a 3-pointer with 5 seconds remaining to lift Furman to a 58-55 win over Western Carolina on Saturday. Reddick was only 1 of 12 from the field.

Furman never trailed and led 32-19 at halftime. Western Carolina chipped away at the lead and forged two ties in the final 5 minutes. The Catamounts' Trey Sumler tied the game with two free throws with 8 seconds remaining, then Reddick hit the game-winner 3 seconds later.

Brandon Sebirumbi scored 19 points and Jordan Loyd had 10 for Furman (8-9, 2-4 Southern Conference), which snapped a five-game losing streak against Western Carolina.

The Paladins made 23 of 31 free throws, including 11 of 15 by Sebirumbi.

Western Carolina scored 21 points off 23 Furman turnovers, but shot 39.5 percent (17 of 43) from the field.

Trey Sumler scored 18 points and Harouna Mutombo added 11 for the Catamounts (8-10, 3-3).
