Bernard Thompson scored 16 points and Sherwood Brown had 15 as Florida Gulf Coast defeated Jacksonville 77-66 Monday night.

The loss was the 12th in a row for the Dolphins (2-14, 0-5 Atlantic Sun Conference), matching their second-longest losing streak ever.

After a 3-pointer by Keith McDougald pulled Jacksonville within two, 68-66, with 4:02 remaining, the Dolphins didn't score again. They missed four shots and two free throws and committed three turnovers.

Thompson scored eight points in the final 3:55 for the Eagles (7-9, 3-3), starting with two free throws. He added a jumper and then made four more free throws in the final 1:06.

Brown made all five of his shots while playing 18 minutes. His first basket, a 3-pointer 18 seconds after he entered the game, gave Florida Gulf Coast a 22-19 lead.

McDougald led Jacksonville with 16 points, Delwan Graham had 13 and Aloys Cabell 12.
