Eastern Illinois cruises against Baker, 59-32

CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) Cornell Johnston scored 11 points, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range, and dished out seven assists to lead Eastern Illinois to a 59-32 victory over Baker University on Tuesday night.

Johnston's seven assists leaves him with 99 on the season, 16 shy of Michael Robinson's freshman school record of 115.

Luke Piotrowski finished with nine points and Trae Anderson added eight for the Panthers (14-9). All 11 Panthers players scored in the game.

Eastern Illinois held Baker to 25.5 percent shooting from the field. They are 12-1 this season when holding an opponent below 40 percent.

Eastern Illinois trailed for just 22 seconds in the game, led 29-14 at halftime and built its lead to as many as 31 in the second half.

E.J. Carter led Baker, a NAIA member, with eight points and 10 rebounds.
